This gallery includes images of wild horses (Mustangs) from three areas in Wyoming. They were made over a two year period. Wild horses are defined by law as an unbranded, unclaimed, free-roaming horse found on public lands. They are descendants of animals that were released by or escaped from Spanish explorers, ranches, miners, the U.S. Cavalry, and American Indians.
